April Events You Should Add To Your Calendar Immediately

It’s Springtime, which means for many people, the snow is melting and it’s getting warmer. With the rise in temperatures, now is the perfect time to get outside and enjoy the events happening in your city. Whether you’re looking for a food truck fest, 5k race, or a little musical entertainment, these April events listed below have got you covered in both the good times and awesome food departments.

Chicago White Sox Opening Day Campaign – Chicago, April 6th

To get people excited about baseball season, the Chicago White Sox have wrapped a food truck and will be passing out ballpark snacks at locations throughout Chicago. Treats like bratwurst, hot dogs with grilled onions, ballpark nachos, bacon on a stick and ballpark peanuts will be handed out. The truck will be accompanied by the Chicago White Sox Pride Team and the mascot will be at a few of the locations as well. If you’re at Michigan Ave and Lake, Michigan Ave and Monroe, Clark and Monroe or Wacker and Adams, come by the truck and hang out for a little while!

LA Beer Fest

LA Beer Festival – Los Angeles, April 9th

Over 80 breweries will set up camp on April 9th at LA Center Studios for the highly anticipated annual LA Beer Festival. The festivities will feature 200+ different beers to sample, DJs, live music, and some of the yummiest food trucks Los Angeles has to offer. Last years participants included awesome offerings from The Lobos Truck, the Greasy Wiener, and delectable Peruvian cuisine from the Cevigos truck. This April the cuisine is sure to be just as enticing, so get your group together and make sure to show up hungry, thirsty, and ready to indulge.

Bubble Run – Irvine, April 10th

Food trucks and foam come to Irvine, California on April 10th for the Bubble Run, a 5k course that can be enjoyed by any age or skill set. Runners and walkers will end up completely covered in colorful bubbles and will be greeted with free swag and a D.J.’d dance party at the finish line. If you feel like you haven’t had enough bubbles, you can even hit the foam machine again for extra bubble coverage at this lively April event. Hungry participants and supporters can get some tasty food truck fare from the likes of T.J.’s Woodfire Pizza, Kala Truck, Ruby’s Diner, Sol Agave, Baby’s Burgers O.C. and Waffling Around!

Chi Food Truck Fest – Chicago, April 8th, 15th, 21th, 29th

The Windy City is warming up and with the sun comes the Chi Food Truck Fest, taking place weekly at Daley Plaza and monthly at Willis Tower. Sure to spice up your lunch break and a great excuse to get out of the office, trucks like The Fat Shallot, the Yum Dum Truck, and Auntie Vee’s will be there dishing out all your foodie favorites.

Dream Vacations And Celebrity Cruises Food Truck Takeover – New York City, April 14th

As part of its U.S. launch national travel franchise, Dream Vacations is hosting a Food Truck Takeover in the Flatiron District (5th Ave between 15th & 20th), serving vacation-inspired cuisine for lunch and dinner. Food options include steak tacos and beef sliders. Vegetarian option is available upon request. The event is open to the public and will be happening from 11:30am to 2pm and 4pm to 7pm.

Coachella – Indio, April 15th-17th, 22th-24th

The always popular music festival in Indio, California is back for its two weekends of dancing, awesome rides, 80’s rock bands, and enticing food vendors. Bring your appetite to the desert as the food at Coachella never fails to be delicious. Last year, Free Range LA, Yeastie Boys Bagels, The Grilled Cheese Truck and more fed hungry music goers. Expect more foodie bliss again this year with trucks like Burgerlords, serving straightforward, delicious burgers, and Backyard Bowls, dishing out fresh fruit smoothie bowls, rolling out to the polo fields in a few weeks.

 Swinging Skirts LPGA Classic – San Francisco, April 18th-24th

Sunny skies, green grass, and some of the best professional women golfers in the world make the Swinging Skirts LPGA Classic an appealing April event. If you’re in San Francisco’s Outer Sunset or hanging out in Daly City, be sure to check out the Lake Merced Golf Club from the 18th to the 24th. The Great American Foodie Fest – Las Vegas, April 28th-May 1st

Ditch The Strip for a little while and head over to The Great American Foodie Fest, a three days foodie bliss complete with a D.J., beer garden, and carnival rides. Grab a highly coveted sushi burrito from Jogasaki or beat the Nevada heat with a sweet and creamy Island Time Float, served in a yummy carved out pineapple. The Great American Foodie Fest is a culinary experience showcasing some of the best food truck menus out there so be sure to come hungry and ready to devour every bite.
