This Week in Food Truck Catering: Boulevard Salad

This week we skipped the usual burger and fries fare in favor of something a little lighter from the team behind the Boulevard Salad food truck. One of the best parts about food truck catering is the endless options of different kinds of cuisine to choose from, meaning that even the pickiest people in the office are satisfied by the variety. When it comes to gourmet food trucks, no type of food is off limits and we loved being able to have a healthy, leafy, and green lunch this week.

The Truck

The best part about the Boulevard Salad truck is the unique design that allowed everyone to view the food before ordering. I often find myself standing with coworkers, staring at a truck’s chalkboard menu, pondering what to order for what seems like an eternity only to change my mind at the last minute when it’s time to order. I loved how the colorful salads and pastas were on display and thought the #UEatWhatUSee was a great touch that reinforces the healthy eating image that the truck is trying to convey. Because all the choices were easy to see and already prepared, it made the ordering process more streamlined and everyone’s orders were ready in mere minutes. A fast and nutritious food truck catered mid-day meal? That’s a win for our office full of foodies.

What We Ate

Boulevard Salad specializes in, you guessed it, salads and fresh pasta salads. A unique menu with each item named after Los Angeles’ most notable boulevards, such as the Sunset, Hollywood, and Pacific salads, are all packed with tasty ingredients and drizzled with flavorful homemade dressings. The Venice and Santa Monica Blvd. dishes came with your choice of tender pulled pork cooked with pineapple pieces or zesty pulled chicken with homemade chili sauce. Many people went with the Manhattan Beach wrap, a wheat tortilla with kale, chicken, carrots, tomatoes, and light Caesar dressing.
