About Sugar Philly

The Sugar Philly Truck wants to spread the sweetness and make it accessible to all those who crave tasty treats. So they are bringing Philly a little piece of heaven and satisfying one sweet tooth at time so keep a look out!

The Present
Some times you just need to treat yourself to something nice. For Sugar Philly though, they think it should be all the time! You've got classes to attend, meetings to sit in, and piles of work to sift through. You are working hard (or at least trying to) so who better than you to deserve a reward! And Sugar Philly completely agrees! So they climbed the rainbow, snuck into heaven, and brought back some sweets sure to make you smile. Sugar Philly wants to let you skip the lines, reservations, and the expensive meals of fine dining places and let you enjoy gourmet desserts as fast as you can. They will give you the best sweet treats straight to your hands from their beloved truck. So now you can enjoy high taste, but stay at street level. Where else can you get this good stuff this easy? Come eat, get a treat, and smile!!!

The Past
Sheila (yes, the truck has a name because Sugar Philly loves her) didn't just pop up in our cabbage patch one night. She's come a long way from when she was first born in 1988. Back then, her first job was actually as a mobile post office. She stationed herself right in front of the World Trade Center in Manhattan New York and served the good citizens in front of the Center. Like any post office, people would come to her for stamps, mailing letters, and sending packages. Of course, she doesn't do that anymore, but she now still tries to deliver some sweetness to your stomach!

The Future
Even though the truck is in the here and now, Sugar Philly has to think about how they will impact the future. That's why they strive to be as socially responsible as they can. The first step was to use an alternative fuel so instead of gasoline, Sugar Philly powers Sheila through compressed natural gas (CNG). You have no idea how far the team has to go to get a fill up, but hopefully in the end everyone is better for it. Sugar Philly also tries to use local ingredients and sustainable materials as well. You'll notice the utensils you're using aren't the typical white or black. Guess what? They're made of corn starch!!! Yay! Of course, this is just little steps towards being eco-telligent so if you can think of ways to help Sugar Philly help the world and you think they can do it, just let them know. Who wouldn't want to be a superhero and save the day!
