Chef Joe Youkhan has decided to hit the road in his own gourmet food truck. Take the trip with us and stay tuned for updates as to when we will be on the streets in Orange County.
Chef Joe's love of food started when he was just a kid in his Grandmother's kitchen in Yonkers, New York. His father was also a chef in an Italian kitchen where Joe would help him prep food.
Joe moved to CA as a teenager and his attention shifted to his love of motorcycles. He graduated top of his class at MMI in AZ and worked as a motorcycle technician for many years. He continued to host dinners for friends and family until one day he decided to start from scratch in a professional restaurant.
Joe worked at Saratoga Grill as a Sous Chef for 3 years. He then moved on to the Ritz-Carlton, Laguna Niguel. He worked through various fine dining positions at the hotel, ending as the Banquet and Catering Chef, managing a multimillion dollar kitchen. In this environment, Joe received several accolades. He took every opportunity to continue to educate himself, dial in technique, try all different cultures of cuisine in addition to building a few strong invaluable relationships.
In 2005, Joe was offered the Executive Chef position at Chat Noir. A fine dining French themed restaurant in Costa Mesa. Joe became the Corporate Executive Chef of the parent company and worked alongside the chefs at the other restaurant locations - French 75 in Laguna Beach, Savannah Chophouse in Laguna Niguel and Chimayo in Huntington Beach.
Chef Joe knew that he would eventually own a restaurant and started his own culinary company. Recently, the concept of the food truck has evolved to reputable gourmet cuisine and with support from loyal fans, he saw a viable possibility to successfully share his food, his taste and his passion with everyone else.
