Welcome to Alfresco Mobilista (AlfMob)!
Alfresco Mobilista (or “AlfMob” for short) was created by Adams Hayne & Julie soon-to-be-Hayne for their love of food, entrepreneurial spirit and just wanting to spend more time together. After all, being a chef doesn’t allow much time at home or anywhere else. The name Alfresco Mobilista came from “Alfresco” for eating outdoors – and “Mobilista” for on the move. And we are excited to bring our rockin’ fare straight to you!
My love for food came at an early age as a latchkey kid in the early 80s. I would get home from school and make my own snacks or help my parents and grandmother in the kitchen. I washed dishes and delivered food during summer vacations by bicycle until high school. While in my early 20s as a young Marine I would cook for my fellow jarheads, taking any chance to relax from long weeks spent in the field preparing for deployment. Upon getting out of the Marines, I chose to use my GI Bill to enter Johnson & Wales University, and make my hobby a career. While earning my bachelors degree I made some lifelong friends at Kiawah Resort under my mentors Anthony DiBernardo and Jonathan Hagins, whom I owe so much in molding me into a better cook.
I spent eight amazing years in Charleston at such well known restaurants as Coast Bar & Grill and Sette Restaurant honing my skills until Jonathan Hagins gave me the opportunity of Chef de Partie at Sea Island Resort in Georgia. From there I moved home to Columbia to become the Head Chef at the Palmetto Club and then Chef de Cuisine at the Blue Marlin. After spending so much time learning from others – whether catering large weddings and events on the coast or local Columbia events - my dream of owning my own business continued to build.
At Alfresco Mobilista we are bringing fresh mobile bistro fare to the masses. Our approach is a creative spin on old favorites and some new ideas. Our cuisine is simple southern food with a Latin and Mediterranean twist. Come check us out for lunch or hire us to come cater your next event.
