Google Introduces Its Google Photos App With a Food Truck

In case you haven’t heard, Google announced its Google Photos app in the Spring and kicked off a tour in New York City.  To continue spreading the word, they’ve teamed up with Roaming Hunger to create a cool food truck that will travel around for the next three weekends!

The new app lets you store unlimited gigabytes of pictures, and includes a brilliant built-in search engine and photo-grouping technology so you can search photos from years past simply using keywords. The new app also comes with a huge array of editing tools, which will enable you to create collages, movies, gifs, and stories and share it with anyone, regardless of whether or not they have the app.

At the Google Photos food truck, money is not required. Instead, you’ll have to successfully complete the #PayWithAPhoto challenge to get a delicious Coolhaus ice cream sandwich! How it works is simple. One of the truck employees will give you a search term like “boat,” “bike” or “cat” and then you must find a photo in your library featuring that term in 20 seconds or less.

The Google Photos campaign is three weeks and starts today in Los Angeles. You can find the truck at Starbucks in the Fairfax neighborhood (7624 Melrose Avenue) from 11AM – 2PM and in The Brig’s parking lot in Venice (1515 Abbot Kinney Boulevard) from 6PM – 9PM. Tomorrow, the truck will be outside of Amoeba Music (6400 Sunset Boulevard) from 11AM – 2PM for lunch and at 1515 Ocean Avenue in Santa Monica (across the street from Shore Hotel) from 6PM-9 PM.

Next week, the food truck will make its way up north to Portland, America’s food truck capital, and then finally head to Austin, Texas during the Labor Day weekend.
