Fall is the time for playing in leaves, wearing your favorite boots, busting your favorite cozy sweater out of hiding, and of course Pumpkin Spice Lattes! Whether you’re a fan of them or not, Pumpkin Spice Lattes have become intertwined with the autumn season, but it doesn’t necessarily mean that you have to be stuck with that flavor. Everywhere you go, there’s a pumpkin spiced something: teas, cookies, scones and even ice cream. But good news (especially for those who aren’t really fans of the PSL), you can taste “fall” through a number of different flavors, not just pumpkin spice and I promise there some flavors that you never even knew existed. For you ice cream fans out there, here are a few of my favorite, crazy fall flavors of ice cream you must try right away!
Ginger Ice Cream
Gingerbread cookies, gingerbread houses, and ginger ice cream all scream fall and cool weather. The best thing about ice cream is you don’t have to go out to have your favorite flavors. You can make your own creations at home! Here’s a wonderful recipe for a triple ginger ice cream here. If you don’t want to make your own at home, Haagen-Dazs also has a ginger flavored ice cream.
Carrot Cake Ice Cream
Carrot Cake is way more than just a moist and delicious cake, it also makes a great ice cream flavor. This flavor may taste great all year round, but the fall colored dessert makes the perfect treat to eat while watching the leaves change colors. Perry’s Ice Cream makes a great creamy Carrot Cake Ice Cream. You can find out where to buy Perry’s here. You can even make the flavor on your own if you’re feeling spirited.
Sweet Potato Ice Cream
Yes, this actually does exist. People are beginning to notice that sweet potatoes are just as versatile as regular potatoes, maybe even more versatile. So it makes sense that someone learned how to make the healthy treat into an ice cream flavor. Try making the sweet and creamy treat yourself and add some marshmallows and caramel sauce for additional sweetness.
Apple Cinnamon Ice Cream
Apple Cinnamon is arguably one of the best fall candle scents, so it just makes sense that it is also one of the best fall ice cream flavors. If you make this ice cream at home, you won’t need to light the scented candle because your house will already smell amazing! You can find a recipe here.
Butternut Squash Ice Cream
Fall is the season for squash! Making a butternut squash flavored ice cream will help bring a healthier side to our favorite dessert. You can make this ice cream with this helpful recipe.
Beer & Pretzel Ice Cream
It’s two perfect flavors that were meant to be together. Lucky for you, the geniuses at Coolhaus did just that. Beer & Pretzel ice cream is perfect for any tailgate, fall day, or really any time of the week. You can buy this delicious fall ice cream flavor at grocery stores, or swing by one of their ice cream shops for a taste.
