Food Truck Catering Round Up: BatterFish & Zema Food Trucks

The best part about the gourmet food truck office catering scene is the variety of cuisine that is available to pull up right outside your door. These past two weeks our office has chowed down on a fusion of Latin and Caribbean flavors in the form of arepas, thick grilled corn flatbread with tasty fillings, as well as some of the best fish and chips in LA from the BatterFish truck.

BatterFish Food Truck Review

Having the best fish and chips in Los Angeles come to your office for lunch is another day in the life of working at Roaming Hunger and this truck did not disappoint. Once a restaurant in Encino turned food truck, Jason Killalee’s  BatterFish had some of the tastiest fried fish our office full of foodies has eaten.

Cod, tilapia, salmon, and catfish were among the options along with different batter flavors, like chili, garlic ginger, traditional, and curry. Hailing from Ireland, Killalee’s grub is the real deal and the batter used on fish and shrimp was the perfect golden fried coating, a delicious crunchy and salty combination that was pure deliciousness.

Our CEO had a couple executives from other companies join us for lunch when BatterFish stopped by our West Hollywood headquarters and they were all extremely impressed with the food and the concept of food truck catering. High level executives from big corporations chowing down on some fish and chips from one of LA’s best food trucks? That’s something that can only happen at Roaming Hunger.

Zema Food Truck Review

While the taco, burger, and pizza trucks are aplenty in Los Angeles, last week our office got to experience the flavors of Venezuela in the form of tequenos, arepas, and cachapas. Having never tried Venezuelan food before I was really looking forward to the Zema truck and the new food experience it offered.

The truck seemed to be a huge hit with the office and The Blondie, a shredded chicken and shredded yellow cheese topped arepa was particularly tasty. Also noteworthy were the cheese sticks, called tequenos, the perfect blend of artisan cheese and crunchy dough on the outside.

Stay tuned for what we eat next week!
