Not so long ago, food trucks were more “roach coach” than gourmet, and street art wasn’t even art – it was vandalism. But nowadays, food trucks are serving some of the best meals in Los Angeles, and artists like Banksy and Shepard Fairey have helped secure street art’s place in history.
Last Thursday night, street food and street art were brought together for the preview of MOCA’s new show, “Art in the Streets.” Guests explored the exhibit and chatted with the artists before heading outside to the awaiting food trucks that served up everything from pork belly tacos and Indian fry bread to fattoush salad and ice cream sandwiches.
