Gastrotruck Takeover by a S.O.B.

New Popup Food Truck to Feature Soups

Minneapolis (November 5, 2013) – Local food truck Gastrotruck has announced its intention to undergo a winter “takeover”, temporarily rebranding itself as Soups On Board (a.k.a. S.O.B.) to bring its locally sourced, chef-crafted cuisine to Minneapolis residents despite the approaching cold weather.

S.O.B. will operate in downtown Minneapolis near the Capella Tower at the intersection of 6th Street and 2nd Avenue, and will be open for lunch on Thursdays and Fridays from 11:00am to 1:30pm. Service will begin on November 7th and run through December 20th. The menu will change daily, and will be posted each morning on the Gastrotruck Facebook page (www.facebook.com/gastrotruckMN) and on the @Gastrotruck Twitter feed using #SOBtruck. It will exclusively feature anything that can be served in a soup cup, including chowder, chili, soup and stew crafted using seasonal ingredients sourced from local partners, and produced using sustainable practices.  A gluten-free and/or vegan option will always be available and of course everything will be made in-house.

“Focusing only on soups gives us the opportunity to provide hot, chef-crafted food to our customers in almost no time,” said Gastrotruck Chef/ Co-Owner Stephen Trojahn. “That means very little waiting in line, which is always a good thing when the weather is cold.”

Soups will be available in two sizes, and prices will range from $4 to $7. Larger containers of hot soup will be available for groups, and quarts of cold, ready-to-heat soup will also be offered for those wanting a take-home option.

The original Gastrotruck will still be available for catering and special events, and will be seen regularly throughout the winter at the local taprooms.  On the streets, its all about the S.O.B.
