Wine fans rejoice! Next weekend will mark the 18th annual celebration of American Rhones.
Taking place in the Bay Area, the weekend event starts on Friday, March 27th with the Winemaker Dinner at the Golden Gate Club in the Presidio. The dinner will be catered by The Girl & The Fig and will also have participating wineries including Bonny Doon Vineyard, Skinner Vineyards, Tin Barn, Sanglier Cellars and Cass Winery. Expected to be a one of a kind experience, the night will start with a wine reception, followed by a three-course meal, an awards ceremony and a live auction.
On Saturday, there will be a Seminar Series prior to the Grand Tasting event. Beginning at 10AM, wine enthusiasts will have the opportunity to learn more about Rhone wines. The first seminar, “Rose made from American Rhone Grape Varieties,” will showcase the new releases of rose, perfectly timed for your summer ahead. The second seminar is “American Grown Rhone Varieties, See How They Age” and will include both new releases and library releases from several winemakers, demonstrating how these varieties age over time.
At 3pm on Saturday, doors will open for the Grand Tasting. There will be more than 300 wines from over 80 wineries at the tasting including Cornerstone Cellars, Cline Cellars, J. Lohr Vineyards and Wines, Miner Family Wines and Steinbeck Vineyards and Winery. Check out the full list of wineries here.
