This simple and savory recipe will undoubtedly have you declaring every month National Grilled Cheese Month!
Bacon & Brie Grilled Cheese Sandwich with Caramelized Onions
For the Caramelized Onions
3 large onions, sliced
2 tbsp olive oil
1/2 tsp salt
4 tbsp brown sugar
2 tbsp red wine vinegar
For the Sandwich
Bacon, as much as your heart desires
Brie cheese, sliced
4-6 slices of bread of your choice
1. Heat a large frying pan over medium heat then saute the sliced onions in olive oil and salt until they are golden.
2. Add the sugar and vinegar, allow the onions to caramelize and then set them aside.
3. Butter the bread on both sides, then top with the onions, brie cheese and bacon.
4. Grilled in a hot pan or sandwich press until golden brown and heated through.
5. Serve immediately.
