Did you know that each day 700,000 free meals are served each day in schools across NYC, that kids have to do without during the summertime? Have you ever wondered how you can contribute to fighting the hunger that 1 in 4 NYC kids face? Well here is your chance!
City Harvest, the world’s first food rescue organization dedicated to ending NYC’s hunger, by distributing food to more than 500 community programs and leading Healthy Neighborhood initiatives, has launched a food truck to promote a fight against hunger campaign!
This week, May 11th – 15th, the Skip Lunch Fight Hunger Truck will be roaming the streets of New York to raise money to help feed kids and their families this Summer and relieve the financial strain that schools free meal programs typically ease during the year.
The food truck will be dishing out delicious meals served by local NYC chefs, including Geoffrey Zakarian of The Lambs Club, Ivy Stark of Dos Caminos, Danny Mena of Hecho en Dumbo, Marc Murphy of Landmarc, and Matthew Katakis of Butcher Bar. $10 will get you an amazing lunch or dessert and help feed $40 kids and for $20 or more you will feed 80 kids and receive both a delicious lunch and tasty treat for dessert.
