The Best Sandwich You Will Ever Have

Malcolm Bedell is a former corporate, cubicle bound, marketer turned food blogger professional and ultimate sandwich maker. After leaving behind a marketing job of 15 years, Bedell decided to take leap of faith and launched a $25,000 Kickstarter campaign to help start a gourmet-sandwich food truck.

Malcolm got his start as a food blogger, as he would go home after long days in the office, and spend his nights trying out recipes and shooting his delectable sandwiches. Eventually his blog, From Away, began to garner 100k viewers a month and brought forth great opportunities to write for acclaimed food publications; Bon Appetit, Serious Eats, Food & Wine, LA Weekly and many more.

In addition to gaining thousands of viewers, a book deal and being featured in numerous food publications, Malcolm also showcases his sandwich crafting talents in competitions. Last year he competed in the World Food Championships in Las Vegas, in which he placed 13th out of 50. This weekend he is competing once again in the same competition amongst the top sandwich masters in the world.

Bedells passion for crafting great sandwiches is the reason took the leap to launch, “Wich Please”, the name of the food truck he plans to open in the Spring of 2015. He states, “It’s time to stop endlessly writing and talking about food and actually start making and serving it full time.”

Malcolm plans to feature both highbrow and lowbrow sandwiches consisting of a wide variety of seasonal items from, garlic roasted asparagus and quick-pickled onions to homemade lamb chili and cheese.

We can help make this truck and these sandwiches come to fruition by contributing to his Kickstarter. With just over a week remaining of the campaign it is already nearly 70% funded. Every dollar counts and for every level of contribution there is something in it for you as well, ranging from e-cookbooks and “front of line” privileges to a catered lunch for you and some friends!

Help Malcolm realize his dream of serving you, “the best sandwich you’ve ever had in your life”.
