The Maine Event

The MAINE Event food truck, a 16' trailer, began its incubation over a decade ago while I worked as Chef de Cuisine at three different Maine and New Hampshire country inns and a members-only lakefront resort. From the hundreds of different dishes I prepared and the dozens of menus I'd written I was distilling out a few favorites that would fit the bill of being ideal food truck fare. I'd been blessed also to have the freedom to use one commercial kitchen in particular in my free time to do experimentation and recipe development. It was there, at The Pleasant Point Inn on Kezar Lake, that I perfected and standardized my own signature Maine Clam Chowder. Future plans for The MAINE Event include marketing this chowder to local grocers, in pint and quart sized containers, as well as offering a chowder base via our website that can be shipped anywhere and will require only the consumer's addition of clam juice, milk and potatoes to make their own batch of Maine Clam Chowder. I moved to the Boulder, Colorado area in June of 2018, after three years working a a private chef, to offer my assistance to a close friend and fellow former Marine Jeff, of the hugely popular "WTF Food Truck", and began the serious planning phase that would become my own mobile kitchen & eatery The MAINE Event at that time. Weighing all the options I chose to build a trailer VS a truck. I have a truck capable of transporting my food trailer anywhere and this will offer me more versatility in location, positioning and marketing. I designed my kitchen to allow for menu versatility as well, and to enable the addition and offering of seasonal items while I source and incorporate into my recipes all the local produce, dairy and meats I can find. My philosophy in a clamshell: Spare no effort in procuring and creating the best foods from my professional cooking experiences of over 37 years as possible, and bring these select items to the public at a fair price. This is not a hobby or pastime, it's my passion and mission. I do what I love and love what I do!
