What is the story behind your business' name?
El Maiz is more than just a food truck, it’s a continuation of a family legacy. Originally owned by my husband's family, they gave us the opportunity to take it over, trusting us to carry it forward with the same passion and dedication. The name ‘El Maiz’ is inspired by the ancient story of ‘mahiz,’ meaning ‘the source of life.’ Corn (Maiz) is more than an ingredient in our dishes, it’s the heart of our culture, a symbol of tradition, and the foundation of the bold, flavorful experience we proudly share with our community.
