About Feastro Truck

Feastro, the roaming bistro! Fabulous food using fresh local ingredients and the wildest menu you'll ever find on a take-out truck. Crazy fans, friendships under the tent, going back for seconds. Two guys who are happiest feeding people and having some laughs while they're at it.

Our names are Steve and Paul. Together with a guest chef or two, and help from family and friends, run ‘Feastro’, the Rolling Bistro.

Steve has a long culinary history in Vancouver. His last post as executive sous chef was at the Salmon House on the Hill Restaurant in West Vancouver, BC. Most notably he was chef/co-owner of the Village Bistro in North Vancouver. The Village Bistro was named #12 in Gourmet magazine’s list of Top 20 Restaurants in Vancouverk BC. He has an insatiable appetite for new flavors and pairings and is calmer than the chef stereotype of recent television fare. His ability to create surprising combinations with local ingredients gets a lot of “WOW” comments. People just can’t believe that food this beautiful and delicious can come out of a purple truck!

Paul has a background in tourism, sales and adventuring. His strength is not only supporting Steve with food prep, plate prep and running the order board… he’s a real people person. Nothing makes Paul happier than smiling people at the side of the truck, sharing a laugh, a story, or passing along compliments about the food. He manages the business end of things, arranging for mobile location approvals, booking catering gigs, updating menus and web information, and much more.

Feastro, has got a lot of experience serving people too. Many patrons remember it from various movie & music catering gigs throughout BC. And most recently this purple beast was renowned on the shores of Tofino, BC as Sobo Restaurant.

We couldn’t do this without the help of so many of our family and friends, especially our wives – Doreen (Steve) and Laura (Paul). Thank you to everyone who has contributed time, talent, elbow grease, laughter, appetites and the ‘community spirit’ that the Sunshine Coast is so famous for.

Come on down and see us – We are currently on the beach at Davis Bay, nearest Chapman Creek (though we will also be doing various festivals, special events and private catering gigs- so please check out our calendar for exact hours and locations). Make new friends! Eat great food (almost everything is made from scratch right on the truck!) ! Enjoy the Coast.

Check out our new menu items on our ‘Fresh Sheet’ every day ranging from Fanny Bay Oysters (panko breaded oysters served with cocktail sauce, lemon and side of greens); lentil soup (served with sour cream, guacamole, shoestring tortillas); Yam fries (served with smoked chipotle aioli or miso gravy); Assorted Sandwiches; Pulled Pork Taco (served on a flour tortilla, refried beans, salsa, sour cream, guacamole, shredded lettuce); and desserts that look like a piece of art. Steve has recently made Pavolva served with seasonal fruits of black berry, blueberry and Okanagan stone fruit, topped with freshly made whipped cream, finished off with a fresh sprig of mint dusted with powdered sugar. Don’t miss mom’s home made blackberry pie – it’s to die for! Try the freshly made Watermelon Lemonade before watermelon season ends – it’s very refreshing.
