Oregon’s capital is only one hour south of Portland, America’s food truck capital, but Salem is a latecomer to the food truck revolution. Salem’s first food truck pod finally opened in 2015, located on the lot of Barrel & Keg at 1190 NE Broadway. Original vendors include Chad’s Smokin’ BBQ, Coffee in Motion, and Black Rock BBQ. If you see a pod resident that looks creepy, it’s just Cryptic Cuisine dishing out Autopsy Plates with sides of Zombie Fingers. Salem’s street eats are worth waiting in the rain for, but you’re still not allowed to use an umbrella!
