The Halal Bros were born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, and from their accents and mannerisms, you can definitely tell. There they had pursued degrees in finance and economics, but even then they knew a boring old desk job didn’t belong in their future. So in 2010, they packed their bags, said heartfelt farewells to their family and friends, and moved down to ATX with the dream to introduce authentic halal food to all the Austinites out there. They started off with a food cart on 6th, serving just chicken and lamb over rice, 4 nights a week...and they were an instant hit.
As the customers’ demand for their food grew, the Halal Bros. quickly expanded to two brick and mortar locations in a couple of Austin’s hottest neighborhoods. Today, their food trailer at 6th & Neches still satisfies the hustlers and bustlers of downtown Austin, who can always go for quick, delicious, wallet-friendly eats. Vegetarians and carnivores alike are huge fans of the Halal Bros. menu, which now includes wraps, shawarma, kebab, falafel, and much more. Whatever you order, don’t ever forget to ask for their famous white sauce. Stop by Halal Bros. soon for a taste of this true Austin favorite.
