Over thirty-five years ago, in a small neighborhood butcher shop, a local butcher began selling delicious, hand-cut steaks. These steaks cooked up tender and juicy and, as rumor had it, tasted incredible. Word began to spread. When his customers asked the butcher what these steaks were called, he simply replied, "They don't have a name." Soon, people were coming from miles around to get the steaks with "No Name," and a legend was born.
Fast forward to today. No Name® still is famous for steaks, but now No Name® has also become synonymous with quality dinners for all sorts of tastes. No matter what you're in the mood for, you know it will be delicious, guaranteed. Look for all the varieties in your grocer's frozen meat section.

Bob Hageman left his job at meat packer John Morrell and Co. searching for, in his words, "a different kind of work environment." After taking out a second mortgage on his home and purchasing a beat-up, old delivery truck, he founded J&B Group. He stored product at a business-partner's butcher shop. He made sales call after sales call. But it was his reputation for customer service and his respect for people that really helped J&B Group become successful. Now, over 100 trucks and 650 employees later, Bob still says, "we live our word." That different environment he was searching for? We believe it's alive and well at J&B Group.
When current president Mike Hageman started at the company, his father wanted to make sure he learned the business from the ground up. So instead of the boardroom, Mike began his career cleaning the rest rooms. He spent time in sales, production and operations, and believes the experience not only gave him an understanding of how things worked, but also the ability to relate to his employees. During his sales days, Mike visited a small, neighborhood butcher that just happened to be one of J&B's top beef customers. People were lined up outside the store waiting for No Name steaks. Mike saw this as a golden opportunity and made No Name part of the J&B family. The rest, as they say, is history.
