In August 2010, the Nelson's launched into the unknown: The barbecue business. After years of smoking and grilling for friends, family, neighbors you name it and realizing they just couldn't get enough. They opened Red Eye BBQ's first mini restaurant in downtown Orlando with only a vendor tent, tables, chairs and one big green egg.
The Pit Master himself built a reputation of hard work, good service, consistency and a true love that produced amazing BBQ. After purchasing a addtional smoker and it still not being enough to keep up with the increasing demand. October 2010, the family took a leap of faith. They decided on fully building out a Mobile food truck. This kind of expansion created city-wide exposure for this venture.
Red Eye BBQ slow smokes all of it's meats. They are rubbed with a secret combination of dry spices, marinated and are smoked slow for 12 to 15 hours over a combination of woods.
