How Sweetie Cakes was born–
Ever since I was a little girl, I loved cooking and baking! I grew up with a large family where social gatherings were, and still are, revolved around food and family. I have especially been interested in baking and pasties, much to the pleasure of my relatives, kids and husband. I have been cooking for an army of kids at home, so in 2008, my family convinced me to pursue my dream and enroll in culinary school. I immediately knew it was the right decision and my desire to begin my own business grew by each day. I completed my culinary degree at Joliet Junior College and decided I was ready to become a pastry entrepreneur...Sweetie Cakes was born.
Sweetie Cakes is a family operated business which involves my children and close family members. We produce, package, and sell everything ourselves. When I started seeing mobile food trucks popping up across the United States, I decided to jump on this incredible business opportunity. My children and I are always on the go so a mobile pastry truck seemed like a perfect recipe for my new business. The name "sweetie" is a term of endearment in my family so I decided to adopt it for the name of the business as this career also holds a special place in my heart.
We're starting off with an exciting but limited variety of pastries but we will be adding to our offerings as our business grows. I have always loved baking and knew someday I would start my own business. Starting our new mobile pastry truck business is the icing on the cup cake!
