9th & Hennepin Donuts

Justin Newstrum’s donut journey may not have begun at Cafe du Monde in New Orleans, but that’s where it found its direction. Inspired by the impossibly delicious hot, fried treats Du Monde is famous for, 9th & Hennepin (named for the Tom Waits song about NOLA) is Newstrum’s love letter to donuts. There’s nothing obnoxious, topped with Froot Loops, or clearly designed only for Instagram at his Seattle, WA donut pop up; these are good, honest (and most importantly), delicious donuts. We’re dealing with classic glazed donuts and crullers here, and while you can always go for a plain original, you’ll want to take a look at whatever he’s got special that day.
