Yes, Be@chcomber is registered for catering and/or vending events on Roaming Hunger. In terms of availability, we don't manage their calendar. The best way to find out if they're available is to fill out your event information and see if they respond.

Our signature Crab Cake Sandwich features premium lump crab meat packed with coastal flavor, lightly crisped and served on a toasted artisan bun with our house-made dynamite sauce. What is the story behind your business' name?

The name Beachcomber was inspired by the spirit of discovery that defines life along the coast. A true beachcomber is someone who walks the shoreline searching for hidden treasures carried in by the tide — unique finds, unexpected beauty, and stories waiting to be uncovered. That same philosophy drives our food trailer. At Beachcomber, we set out to create a chef-driven seafood experience that feels fresh, memorable, and rooted in Virginia Beach coastal culture. From premium seafood and creative flavors to laid-back hospitality, every dish is meant to capture the feeling of finding something special by the water. The “at” symbol in our name represents a modern twist on a timeless coastal tradition — blending classic beach culture with elevated culinary creativity.

Where did you learn to cook?

I learned to cook through more than 20 years of hands-on experience in professional kitchens, combined with formal training at the Culinary Institute of America. Throughout my career as an Executive Chef, I’ve worked in high-volume restaurants and refined my approach to seafood, hospitality, and chef-driven comfort food. Beachcomber brings together that professional culinary background with my passion for coastal flavors and Virginia Beach culture.

Why did you decide to start your business?

I started Beachcomber because I wanted to build something that combined my passion for great food, coastal culture, and creating memorable experiences for people. After years working in professional kitchens as an Executive Chef, I saw an opportunity to bring chef-driven seafood to a more relaxed, approachable setting through a food trailer. Virginia Beach has an incredible coastal identity, and I wanted to create a concept that reflected that energy — fresh seafood, bold flavors, laid-back hospitality, and a true beachcomber spirit. More than anything, I wanted to build something meaningful for my family while creating a business that people could genuinely get excited about and follow from the very beginning.

Who encouraged you the most to start your own business?

My family has been my biggest source of encouragement throughout this entire journey. They’ve supported the vision from the beginning and motivated me to take the leap from working for others to building something of my own. Their belief in me gave me the confidence to turn years of culinary experience and passion for coastal food into Be@chcomber.

What's your favorite event that you've catered for?

Some of my favorite events to cook for have always been gatherings that bring people together — especially large celebrations, community events, and private parties where food becomes part of the experience and atmosphere. I’ve always enjoyed the energy of serving people in a more interactive setting, where guests can connect directly with the chef and the food feels personal. That passion is a big part of what inspired Be@chcomber. I’m especially excited to bring that same experience to breweries, beach events, private catering, military functions, and community gatherings throughout Virginia Beach and Hampton Roads.
