Founded by Derrick Hayes, a West Philly native, the food truck offers mouthwatering cheesesteaks and unique egg rolls. Inspired by his grandfather's culinary teachings, Derrick moved to Atlanta and launched Big Dave's Cheesesteaks, named after his late father, to share his love for the iconic Philly staple. The truck, known as "The Big Jawn," serves up classics like the DW LIL' Daves Beef Combo, seasoned ribeye on an Amoroso's roll, and innovative twists like the Salmon Egg Roll, combining seasoned salmon with onions and cheeses.

Beyond serving delectable dishes, Derrick Hayes is deeply committed to community involvement. Through The David and Derrick Hayes Foundation and the David & Derrick Hayes College Fund, he supports cancer research and provides scholarships to deserving students. Together with his wife, Pinky Cole, Derrick also leads Square 1: The Liife Experience, promoting wellness in the Black community.
