The name Bonchero traces its roots back to the heart of the cigar world — to the factory floors of old Havana and Ybor City, where generations of skilled hands rolled leaves into legacy. In traditional cigar-making, one of the most vital yet underappreciated roles was that of the “bonchero.” A bonchero was the worker who crafted the bonche — the core or "bunch" of the cigar, formed by carefully selecting and arranging the filler tobacco before it was wrapped. The bonchero didn't just make cigars — they built the foundation for flavor, consistency, and character.
