CASA de TAMALES is a local staple in Fresno, an award winning family owned Mexican restaurant that specializes in premium, artisan style tamales. For years, foodies from far and wide have gathered at this veritable mecca of tamales, but soon the demand outweighed the supply. Thus, CASA de TAMALES became CASA de TAMALES on the move, popping up at local fairs and festivals to serve up those same masa dough goodies.
At CASA de TAMALES, you're benefitting from generations worth of home cooking, with recipes and traditional preparation methods passed down. Liz Sanchez was uniquely inspired by her grandmother, who successfully owned a tortilla business in Mexico for a decade and had developed her own method to working masa into tamales. Thankfully, those recipes were saved, and now Liz is making her own tamales, incorporating old world style and fusing it with modern concepts. Every tamale is handmade with stone-ground masa made in house from locally grown non-GMO corn, ensuring healthier tamales of the highest quality. From green tomatillo chicken to shredded beef and New Mexico chili pork, sink your teeth into some hearty goodness.
