You are looking at a ca1943 military soup kitchen. My dad found it in Germany and decided to ship it to Canada.
According to documents provided with the soup kitchen, it used to belong to the Czechoslovakian army. It was refurbished and safety inspected in Germany. Proper lights and a different trailer hitch was also added. The chili tank can be heated with wood, propane or if you really in a pinch with diesel.
Since 2009 the Chili Tank has been at various events throughout the lower mainland, serving a variety of delicious soups and chilies. We are trying to use organic and local produce whenever possible. All our utensils and soup bowls used are biodegradable and compostable. We are also using a green fire log to heat the Chili Tank, which is made out of 80% used coffee grounds. It smells lovely and is good for the environment. We are proudly serving organic European Bread Bakery baguettes with our chili.
THE CHILITANK IS THE BOMB!!!
Thanks for your interest and we hope to see you around town.
