Meet Ida Cathcart

What is the story behind your business' name?

My Pick: The Classic Pepperoni — it's the one that started it all, and still the fan favorite at every event. Fan Favorite: Buffalo Chicken Pizza Burrito — our most-requested flavor at festivals across North Texas!

Why did you decide to start your business?

I started my business in 2018 while still working full-time. Growing up, my family owned restaurants, so I already understood health permits and how to run a food business — that background gave me the confidence to try it myself. I started small, testing things at farmers markets: first cheesecakes in a jar, then homemade sourdough bread (which ran into packaging problems — the bread would sweat in the bags). That led me to Italian ice, which became your foothold, and from there I tapped into homemade lemonade and eventually the pizza burritos — all while still holding down my corporate career.

What's your favorite event that you've catered for?

During Covid my favorite set ups were setting up at HOA's all around town. Catering to folks that didn't want to get out and were not able to go to their sweet tooth shops and I was able to bring our sweet treats to them, now in 2021 we enjoy setting up at festivals and music events, Dr. Pepper Ballpark in Frisco, Corporate Events, Movie nights and more. In 2022 we have lined up the Texas Motor Speedway to serve our favorite treat. Look forward to growing more and hopefully one day make my business a household name.
