Doughnut Plant got its start in a small New York City, NY apartment back in the ‘90s. Mark Israel began experimenting with donut making, trying his luck with unusual flavor profiles based on his grandfather’s recipes. Mark worked out of his apartment for years, selling batches of donuts to bakeries and specialty shops. As popularity spread, so did the business. Now, Doughnut Plant sports multiple carts and brick and mortar locations throughout the Big Apple. If you happen upon one of these pristine purveyors of sweet things, definitely sample the fare.
