What is the story behind your business' name?
It’s a long time family joke that we came up with when we were younger selling falafels at festivals around Maine and New England.
About Falafel Mafia
If there's one mafia you'd want to join, it'd be a foodie one. Even more specifically, a falafel one. That's right. Falafel Mafia is a food truck that prides itself in creating a tightly knit falafel community, one that thrives on loyalty and dedication to the falafel form. And you're only gonna find it in Portland, Maine.
This 1971 Grumman Olsen truck previously carted around bread, milk and mail and hails from New York City, like any good mobster would. Unlike the owners Dylan and Cam Gardner, who grew up in the family business of making mouthwatering falafel on the midcoast of Maine. But that's besides the point. They've earned their mobster status already by the mobs of foodies that flock to this fantastic food truck, being treated to a myriad of pita pocket sandwich filled with their famous falafel. Topped with lemon garlic hummus and house made tahini sauce, you'd be hard pressed to find falafel this delicious and this authentic anywhere else. So don't go looking. You've found everything you need right here. Track down Falafel Mafia in Portland, or invite these mobsters out to cater your hungry mob of friends at your next event. Trust us. They won't disappoint.
The Godfather - This is one sandwich you can't refuse. Get their homemade falafel topped with lemon garlic hummus, cucumber tomato salad and tahini sauce all stuffed in a warm pita.
