Rico Felice grew up around pizza. Coming from an Italian family, he spent ample time throughout his childhood in his grandparents’ kitchen learning the art of a quality wood-fired pie. As an adult, his fondness for pizza remained. In 2007, he took a trip to Italy with his wife, and returned to the San Martin, CA area inspired by everything he tasted. He decided to make it his goal to build a mobile wood-fired oven to roll around the area whipping up piping hot eats on the streets. Now, he does just that with Felice Forno. Rico and his team hand-stretch the dough themselves before piling on the homemade sauce, whole milk mozzarella cheese, and other toppings. They smoke their pies using only dark oak and almond woods, known not to dilute the ingredients’ natural tastes. In terms of toppings, there are loads of different choices.
