What is the story behind your business' name?

The name "Flour Power Catering" is a clever nod to the "Flower Power" movement of the '70s, playing off the pun of "flour" for the pizza business. It also reflects a vintage vibe, tied to our VW Busi imported from Brazil, adding a unique and nostalgic touch our brand

Why did you decide to start your business?

Flour Power was created during and after a big trip back in 2013. My wife Marcia, my daughter Olivia, and I embarked on a long journey, traveling in a small motorhome from Canada to Brazil. We lived and traveled intensely for an entire year, visiting sixteen different countries along the Pan-American highway, which stretches from the top of Alaska to the tip of Tierra del Fuego. We learned so much about the world, ourselves, and all the fascinating cultures along the way. One of the most important parts of our incredible voyage was the chance to explore our passion for food. We tasted every new dish we could and took several cooking classes so we could bring a piece of each culture home with us—from Mexican food in Oaxaca to pizza in São Paulo, Brazil, and all the gastronomic adventures in between

Flour Power is bringing wood-fired pizza perfection to the streets of Toronto. Founded by Andre, who became a licensed pizzaiolo in São Paulo, this food truck combines a love for travel and diverse culinary traditions. After a year-long adventure through 16 countries with his family, Andre turned his passion for global flavors into Flour Power, a mobile pizza experience that offers artisanal pies with bold, international twists.

The menu at Flour Power features a lineup of pizzas that are as creative as they are delicious. From the classic Margherita with Fior di Latte and fresh basil to the Hot Diavola, spiced with soppressata and hot peppers, there’s something for everyone. Looking for something more unique? Try the Spanish Chorizo pizza topped with chorizo, black olives, and fig jam drops, or the Portobello with roasted mushrooms and red pepper.
