Meet Zyhir Baker-Elam
What is the story behind your business' name?

The owner Zyhir Baker-Elam left Philadelphia to go to college in the south at Tennessee State University. While at school him and his best friend who was also from Philadelphia always talked about Philadelphia's food and culture. While trying to explaining it to people from the south they never could really understand things like what a philly water ice or what the word jawn meant, so they would always give up trying to explain and just say it's a philly thing. Hence that is how the name was born.

Opening in 2018 as Nashville's first Philly cheesesteak food truck, It'z a Philly Thing's "soul" mission to excite your tastebuds with a Philly experience like no other.
