Alden Louke and Joseph Poon grew up together in Brooklyn. While they loved New York City’s rich culinary culture, they felt one thing was sorely missing in terms of Taiwanese cuisine – bien dang. With that, JAK! was born. These lunchbox meals made up of richly seasoned medleys of meats, veggies, and eggs are a staple of Taiwan. Now, they’re becoming a staple of the Big Apple with the assistance of this food truck.
