About Ooh Dat ChickeN

Jason Mirhardy grew up helping his mother and aunts in the kitchen. Taking the cooking knowledge he gained from the women in his family, he decided to pursue culinary arts as an adult, and after training in Miami and cutting his teeth at various restaurants across the country, he finally found himself back home in Washington DC, at the helm of a food truck. Rotisserie chickens are the name of the game at Ooh Dat Chicken, and Mirhardy is serving them up with love.

You’ll smell this truck well before you see it as the mix of aji pepper, cumin, and saffron used to season up this poultry gives off a heckuva scent. Mirhardy’s birds are brined for 48 hours before slow-cooking them vertically over an open flame, keeping them nice and juicy, as well as adding a nice char to the flavor profile. Hook yourself up with some sides while you’re there, with anything from basil coleslaw to rosemary garlic roasted potatoes. Sound delicious?
