What is the story behind your business' name?

Par·lay/ˈpärˌlā,ˈpärˌlē/ by informal definition, is to chill out; sit around, relax, and stay for a while. PARLAY, because of its unique characteristics, is the premiere dining choice to share, savor, and sip.

Why did you decide to start your business?

After many successful years in the corporate arena, we decided to take a leap of faith and pursue our joint passion for cooking and entertaining, while spreading loads of love and positive vibes. We had no idea that a pandemic would ensue and totally derail our original brick-and-mortar plans. We had a tough choice to make, and learning the art of the pivot, we decided to continue pursuing our purpose. The love that we spread through our food is more needed now than ever.

What's your favorite event that you've catered for?

One of our favorite events was a wedding that was held at an arts center. We provided hors d'oeuvres for the pre-wedding art stroll as well as small plates for the reception, which was a block party. Chef Xavier John even surprised the couple with one of their favorite dishes that that didn't make the final menu. The couple and the guests truly enjoyed our food and energy, and we throughly enjoyed serving them.
