Peko Peko turns Japanese cuisine on its head and serves it up in wildly inventive ways; fit to be served on the island of innovation. Ramen is perhaps the most familiar comfort to be found here, richly soaked in aromatic broth. Available in standard and "gourmet", with all the fixings including a hard-boiled egg, it's about as traditional as Peko Peko gets.
Bolder offerings include Japanese fried chicken with red tebasaki salsa, and a "krazy kanji" dish featuring fresh crab and ahi tuna on tostones, slathered in aioli and sweet soy. Each dish is an intersection between Japanese streets and Puerto Rican avenues; deliciously smashed hybrids designed to give you a while new breed of daydream. And the design works - so long as you show up. You're kind of an important part of the design.
