What is the story behind your business' name?
Started in May of 2018, Owners Jeff and Janeen Taplin of pineappleWHIPS make it their personal mission to bring the spirit of Aloha to everyone. "We're not just your ordinary Dole Whip, we include an island twist with our purée fruit toppings inspired by flavors and culture Janeen grew up with in Hawaii". So when we started our business, we didn’t overthink it. We named it after the very thing that inspired the dream: pineapple WHIPS—simple, joyful, and instantly recognizable. It’s a nod to the treat that sparked our journey and the island spirit we try to pour into every cup. Today, the name represents more than a flavor. It’s our family story, our Oakland roots, and our mission to serve a little sunshine wherever we go.
