Friends since childhood in Damascus, Syria, Omar Alsaadi and Mouhanad Kabbani decided to take a leap of faith by honoring their Middle Eastern roots and opening up shop at Pita Chip in Philadelphia. Their fast-casual Syrian street food spot pays homage to their upbringing while maintaining the vibe of the City of Brotherly Love.
Start with either chicken or beef shawarma, falafel, or grilled veggies, choose your toppings (like roasted red pepper hummus, pickled turnips, Lebanese-style pickles, red cabbage slaw, and a whole lot more), pick a sauce (they’ve got some great choices ranging from classic garlic sauce to Buffalo tahini), and throw them into a wrap or bowl. Whatever you choose, you’re leaving with a stomach full of fresh, tasty food, so get over to Pita Chip in Philadelphia pronto. Or better yet, book them to cater your next event.
