Marc Roppolo was practically raised in his Sicilian grandparents’ Italian grocery store in New York, where he developed an incredible work ethic and taste for authentic Italian ingredients. Eventually, he was taken under the wing of Sicilian Pizza Master, Armando Spavenda, and his culinary education expanded, eventually moving down south to open up his first Roppolo’s Pizzeria in 1989 on Sixth Street in the heart of Austin’s culture and nightlife.
Fast forward to now, and in addition to the iconic downtown restaurant, there are several Roppolo’s trucks, trailers, and more brick & mortar locations throughout Austin. They each serve Marc’s signature authentic NY-style pizza by the slice, and each feed masses of fans every day.
