Marc Roppolo was practically raised in his Sicilian grandparents’ Italian grocery store in New York, where he developed an incredible work ethic and taste for authentic Italian ingredients. Eventually, he was taken under the wing of Sicilian Pizza Master, Armando Spavenda, and his culinary education expanded to where he had the confidence to move down south and open up his first Roppolo’s Pizzeria in 1989 on Sixth Street, the heart of Austin’s culture and nightlife. It all went quite well because fast forward to now, and in addition to the iconic downtown restaurant, there are several Roppolo’s trucks, trailers, and more brick & mortar locations throughout Austin. They each serve Marc’s signature authentic NY-style pizza by the slice, and each feed masses of fans every day. Thanks to this impressive fleet, It’s never been more convenient to get your Roppolo’s fix, either on the go or at your very own special event. From lunch hour to late night, Roppolo’s Pizzeria is more than ready to satisfy your cheesy pizza cravings.
