Paula and her family are East Coast natives, so they naturally grew up enjoying Italian ice on hot summer days. Upon migrating to Orange County, CA, they noticed a distinct lack of their favorite saccharine snack in their newfound home. Rather than wallow, they took it upon themselves to right that wrong with Scooter’s Italian Ice. Now, you’ll find Paula and her team rolling through Southern California serving their chilly snacks up out of the window of a food truck.
The Italian ices at Scooter’s are a dessert you can feel good about. These treats contain zero high fructose corn syrup as they’re sweetened with natural ingredients only. Plus, they’re low-calorie, gluten-free, fat-free, and cholesterol-free. Don’t think this means these goodies skimp on the flavor either. Whether you nab a refreshing blast of lemon or the tart taste of cherry, your palate will be more than pleased here. Sweet tooth calling? Of course it is. Head on down to Scooter’s Italian Ice and treat yourself. Or, bring 'em straight to you by booking ‘em for your next event. Guests will enjoy a dessert table packed with guilt-free sweets.
Orange-Vanilla - The sugary sweet taste of a creamsicle in the form of a refreshing Italian ice
Originally, my nephew was doing this on the East Coast. His parents called him Scooter. When he decided he didn’t want to do it anymore, we just kept the name.
We ship the ice in from the East Coast. We don’t cook it here.
I wanted to retire and I thought this would be fun. But, now I work and I have more fun.
My son. He wanted something like this and I thought, “Okay, fine.” Seeing food trucks out there, everybody seems to have fun. Everybody’s so friendly and I love people.
I do one in Long Beach called Mud Mania and the kids get to play in the mud. It’s really fun.
My favorite dish is the orange-vanilla. It tastes like a 50-50 creamsicle and reminds me of when somebody else paid my bills and I didn’t pay ‘em.
