What is the story behind your business' name?

Social Beans was born from a season of deep grief and unexpected connection. I created the cart after losing my father in early March 2025 — a beloved community-builder who often said, “we are all just social beings.” The name is both a tribute and a promise: to pour beauty into everyday rituals, spark moments of togetherness, and make people feel seen — one shaken latte at a time.

Social Beans is Seattle’s original shaken latte cart, bringing a creative twist to coffee service at events throughout the city and the Eastside. Specializing in high-quality, handcrafted lattes with a signature shake, this cart blends exceptional flavor with a whole lot of personality. Every cup features direct-trade beans from Olympia Coffee and organic syrups from Holy Kakow, creating drinks that are as thoughtful as they are refreshing.

More than a mobile coffee stop, Social Beans puts purpose front and center because presence can't be poured from an empty cup. All ingredients are sourced ethically with community impact and sustainable practices in mind, including partnerships with nationally accredited kosher suppliers. Their annual MEMORY/steam initiative donates 100 percent of proceeds to the UW Memory Hub, supporting Alzheimer’s awareness and community programs. It is coffee that fuels both moments and meaning.

From fundraisers and brand activations to weddings and private events, Social Beans delivers an experience that goes far beyond caffeine. With every shake and pour, the cart brings people together through flavor, connection, and a mission worth remembering.
