Meet Dylan Walsh and Noah Zaret
What is the story behind your business' name?

We named it after the street where it all started. Noah and I (Dylan) grew up in the Palisades. Around the time COVID hit and we got our driver’s licenses, we started driving all over L.A. trying street food. Smash burgers were our favorite, but the Westside didn’t have many options. So we started selling on Sunset Boulevard in the Palisades, right in our own neighborhood. Sunset + smash burgers = Sunset Smash.

Sunset Smash serves up handcrafted smashburgers from its food truck in Los Angeles, combining flavors inspired by the founders’ favorite West Side burgers. Each burger is carefully built with fresh ingredients, house-made sauces, and signature toppings that give classic smashburgers a unique twist.

Menu highlights include the Spicy with jalapeños, grilled onions, pepperjack, and house sauce, the Truffle with sautéed baby bella mushrooms, truffle aioli, and Swiss cheese, and the Classic with pickles, grilled onions, house sauce, and American cheese. Grilled cheese options range from the Three Cheese with onion jam and house sauce to the simple Tame with melted American cheese.

Sunset Smash also offers fries seasoned with the house blend or loaded with a single smash patty, cheese, grilled onions, pickles, and house sauce, making it easy to enjoy a full, flavorful meal from the heart of the West Side.
