My favorite drink currently is Shaken Brown Sugar Cinnamon Espressso, I enjoy hot or iced, depending on my mood.

What is the story behind your business' name?

I absolutly love COFFEE and lipstick, lol! I would always leave my lip print on my coffee cup, and it would never fail that some one would ask, who's cup is this? the reply would always be it's Sylvia's cup. When I was brainstorming on a name for my busines, I didnt want the usual coffee shop name. I wanted something that was ME and I can identify with. That's where Sylvia's Coffee Cup was created and named for business and logo.

Where did you learn to cook?

I have almost 20 years experience as a Barista. I've always enjoyed preparing and making drinks at home for family and frineds. It all took off when I started working for a coffee house in 2005 and continued up to 2020.

Why did you decide to start your business?

After several years in the business, starting out as a barista part-time to a manager of 2 coffee shops I felt the time was near to either persue a new adventure or to keep going with shop. Even though happy each day at work I felt I owed it to myself to take a risk and start a new path for myself.

Who encouraged you the most to start your own business?

This is a tough question to answer becasue I've had so many to encourage me, and being my cheerleaders. I would say its a toss between family/friends and past customers. When managing other shops customers thought I owned the business because I ran it like it was my own. I took pride in the quality and customer service that was provided each day by myself and co-workers.

What's your favorite event that you've catered for?

All my events are fun and they keep getting better and better. If I had to chose 1 favorite event I would say the catering event I did for a senior assisted living ( Oakmont of Brookside) The residents were so excited to have me there providing drinks for them made to order. The staff was also treated along with residents, but seeing their smiles and gratitude was almost payment enough.
