Every month, my family gathers for what we call "Sunday Dinner." It's a special time when we come together to prepare meals, share stories, laugh, and enjoy each other's company. Those gatherings remind us that food is more than something we eat—it brings people together and creates lasting memories. The Frying Station was created to extend that same sense of family, fellowship, and hospitality to our customers. Whether we're serving at a festival, corporate event, private party, or community gathering, our goal is to provide great food with a warm, welcoming experience that makes people feel at home. We believe every meal is an opportunity to bring people together, and that's the spirit behind The Frying Station.

Where did you learn to cook?

I learned to cook from my grandmother. She taught me that great food is about more than following a recipe—it's about bringing people together, showing love through a meal, and creating memories around the table. Some of my fondest memories are of spending time in the kitchen with her, watching her prepare meals for family and friends with patience, pride, and care. The lessons she taught me continue to inspire The Frying Station today. From the way we season our food to the way we serve our customers, we strive to create the same feeling of warmth, hospitality, and connection that I experienced growing up. Her influence is a big part of who we are, and every meal we serve is a tribute to the values she passed down through generations.

Why did you decide to start your business?

I decided to start The Frying Station because I have always enjoyed bringing people together through food. As someone who has spent my career serving others through social work and community-based services, I wanted to create something that combined my passion for helping people with my love of cooking. Food has a unique way of bringing families, friends, coworkers, and communities together. I saw an opportunity to create a business that not only serves great food but also creates memorable experiences. Inspired by the family traditions I learned from my grandmother and our monthly Sunday dinners, I wanted to share that same sense of connection, hospitality, and comfort with others. The Frying Station was built on the belief that every meal should be served with care and every customer should feel welcomed like family. What started as a dream has grown into an opportunity to serve our community, celebrate special occasions, and create lasting memories one meal at a time.

My family has also been a tremendous source of encouragement. They have supported me every step of the way, from sharing ideas and offering honest feedback to helping at events and celebrating milestones. Their belief in me reinforced the values of hard work, perseverance, and service that are at the heart of The Frying Station.

My favorite event that I've catered was a fashion show organized by my niece that benefited individuals with Down syndrome. It was a truly special experience because it combined two things that are very important to me: bringing people together through food and supporting a meaningful cause. The event was filled with positivity, inspiration, and a strong sense of community. Watching the participants shine on the runway and seeing the support from family, friends, and community members made the event unforgettable. It was about much more than serving food—it was about being part of something that celebrated inclusion, confidence, and the unique gifts of every individual. As someone who has spent much of my professional life serving individuals with disabilities, the mission of the event resonated deeply with me. Being able to contribute through The Frying Station and support a cause that promotes awareness, acceptance, and opportunity made it one of the most rewarding events I have ever catered.
