Despite the fact that The Purple Perogy opened a full brick-and-mortar shop in Sherwood Park based on the success of their original trailer, we can all rest assured that the trailer will still be functioning, feeding authentic Ukrainian perogies to the people of Edmonton, Alberta. Hopefully said people of Edmonton save room for dessert too, because in addition to their famous perogies, they’re also serving up homemade ice cream sandwiches.
All of The Purple Perogy’s perogies start with a base of potato and cheddar, bathed in their signature cream sauce, dill, green onions, sour cream, and bacon bits, but it’s up to you what else you want to add. Garlic sausage, perhaps? They’ve got that. Perogies topped with gravy and cheese curds, because any Canadian street food would be remiss not to include some version of poutine? Bingo. What about perogies stuffed with less classic ingredients, like buffalo chicken? Done deal. Either way, you know exactly who to book next time you’re throwing a perogy party. (Hint: it’s the Purple Perogy)
