What is the story behind your business' name?

The inspiration for Three Legged Dog Coffee is my dog, Champion. He is a Pomeranian/Dachshund mix and the heart behind the trailer. I adopted Champ while in graduate school at Auburn University, after a good Samaritan found him in Tuskegee National Forest with a badly broken leg around 8 weeks old. Despite the injury, Champ kept walking on it until the nerve died, and two veterinary teams agreed that amputation was the best path forward. After surgery, he was put up for adoption, and that’s when I found him. Champ's has such a fun personality, and his signature pose, sitting upright on his hind legs, became the inspiration for our logo. Everyone who meets Champ wants to take him home—and we hope our customers feel the same way about our coffee.
