The Bay Area may not be known for its Mexican food, but Tortas Gigantes Metro Balderas wants to change that. When Jessica and Fernando Zaragoza opened up shop in 2016, they had one mission: bring delicious, authentic tortas to Napa, CA. In no time, Tortas Gigantes had a loyal following and a legion of fans.
You’ll find the classics lining the menu, with hits like marinated pork, head cheese, and chorizo and eggs, but it’s the specialty tortas that bring people back. Give the milanesa (chicken-fried steak) a look, or for more of a fusion vibe grab their take on a Cubano. Or better yet, if you can’t decide just go for one of their combo sandwiches and combine to your heart’s content.
