Roots themselves have always been at the beginning of what Tree Dog Roots food truck does so well. Beginning as a tree-trimming service, this Tampa truck slowly developed a salsa on the side, gathering ingredients from local markets it traveled through, and selling the end result through the same inroads. Eventually, a philosophy sprouted, and the truck's signature SMASH Bowls bloomed. Scattered over seasonal, rotating root veggies, the hearty, healthy and incongruously comforting dishes are topped with a variety of options - from four cheese to walnut pesto basil to bangers and SMASH®, with several more options. Everything on the menus is homemade and cooked fresh with unprocessed ingredients.
The flavors are bold enough to recall the bowls' proper Celtic/German origins, but balanced enough to be pure comfort food. It's an innovative way to eat what's timeless; a paradox that's at the root of every restaurant worth dining at. This one's roots just happen to be mobile.
